Black Sand can be found along the dunes on the Outer Banks after storms have occurred. The black sand is made up of the heavier minerals like magnetite, gold, and garnet. Those heavier minerals stay when the lighter particles like quartz and shell bits wash away.
The black sand in this collection has been tediously collected from our beaches. It has been paired with sterling silver and set in resin.
