The Magazine Art Collection diverges in medium but maintains the core principles of sustainability and nature-inspired design. For this series, repurposed magazine pages create abstract collages that capture the spirit of beach life. Recycling magazine pages not only aligns with my commitment to repurposing but also introduces an element of surprise as each page offers a new palette of colors and textures, allowing the wearer to engage with their own memories and experiences of the coast.
Magazine Art turns the printed page into something you can wear. Recycled magazine pages — picturing the Outer Banks, Jersey Shore, and Florida Coasts — are pressed, gilded, and sealed into lightweight, reversible, one-of-a-kind earrings. It is the most literal expression of the Sea Gypsy idea: beauty found in what others would throw away.
